Knights of Columbus Princeton Council 636 recently held their first ever charity golf tournament and raised nearly $6,000.00 for the Coats for Kids initiative of the Knights of Columbus. In 2009, the Knights of Columbus launched the Coats for Kids program to keep kids warm in harsh winter climates. With many families with young children struggling in tough economic times, there was a clear need to provide warm winter coats to children in their communities. And so, the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program was born. Under the leadership and execution of Deputy Grand Knight Joseph Sarubbi, Princeton Council 636 hosted its first ever Golf Outing in support of the KOC Coats for Kids Program. "Our success in our first go-around with this was beyond my expectations for sure", according to Joe Sarubbi, Deputy Grand Knight for Council 636. This year’s event was held at Cranbury Golf Club in West Windsor, N.J. The event hosted over 25 golfers. Golfers enjoyed a full round of golf, lunch, a raffle to further benefit the Coats for Kids initiative as well as prizes for events held during the day. According to Joe Sarubbi, “like all of our work at KOC Princeton Council 636, our focus is on supporting our partner charities in all the amazing work they do. Coats for Kids is one of those important partners and we look forward to next year’s event.” Princeton Council 636 would like to thank our generous sponsors of the event including St. Paul’s Parish, Donna Murray, and Stephanie Zepka.
